One of our regular passengers, Sarah Caddick, has written and recently published a book of poetry. Sarah has been writing poetry since the age of five.
"I find that poetry is a wonderful therapy for expressing feelings and encouraging healing through finding your own truth. Over the years there have been times when the emotional ups and downs of my relationships and my health have inspired my poetry more than ever. For several years when I was so ill that I had to spend a lot of time in bed unable to walk or even read more than a few lines, poetry writing became even more important to me. It was one of the few hobbies I could still pursue".
Sarah has had ME for 19 years and is donating money from the sale of each book to The Optimum Health Clinic Foundation which works to support, fund and lobby for research into ME, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and Fibromyalgia.
The book is called 'Loving from the Soul' and is a journey through some of the highs and lows of her life during the last 25 years.
"For all of us, life is a rollercoaster and I’ve turned this into poetry. Some poems are factual and others fictional, inspired by someone or something I’ve seen. There are poems about the challenges and joys of relationships, illness and spirituality. Whether it’s the thrill of falling in love, the pain of separation or jealousy, the frustration of illness, or the feeling of a deep spiritual peace".
Sarah's book is available from Stillwater Books Felixstowe or on Amazon priced at £7.99.
